salutations - April 8, 2008
Hi everybody! Guy Terrifico here with a quick Robber Barons update.
Here we are Barons fans...the Ides of April are upon us. Aside from doing some music for an upcoming film, this month finds the band carrying the Olympic torch through part of San Francisco during this month's celebration (they'll have the tenderloin route). They are extremely honored by the committee's decision to include them in this momentous occasion against the warnings of the police department and the psychiatric community. While in their adopted hometown of SF, the boys will also be making a local appearance on 4/26 at the Plough and Stars. (check the calendar for the details) The boys will be debuting a couple of new tunes that night so don't miss out on a chance to come out and toss a few back w/ The Robber Barons. Stopping through to open for the guys will be Scotland Barr and the Slow Drags from Portland. SF's own Sorrow Town Choir will be closing the night out also. A bill not to be missed! C'mon down.

Season's Gravies,
We here in Baron World sincerely hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving Day. The band is having their family time before serious work begins at year's end and they get back to the business of bringing the music to the people. Keep checking back for added dates as '08 is stacking up to be a busy one for The Robber Barons. Do not miss the new sounds the band will be working up thru those long winter months. If your gift giving is not already planned, please consider The Robber Barons gift certificates. They are in the form of $20 bills and can be used to buy all kinds of Baron stuff like cds, t-shirts and even RB concert tickets. We hope to see everyone's stockings stuffed by the time the band hits the road again.
Happy Holidays,
TRB

Salivations,
Bet yer thinkin’ “When am I ever going to get to see The Robber Barons live?” Relax. We’re just taking some time to catch our breath. The last 12 months have been very busy for TRB. The boys have recorded and released the critically acclaimed “Kerosene Communion” and done numerous tours and showcases over the last year and it was just time for the guys to take a break. Alex finally has a chance to go on his honeymoon (after 2 years), Jeff is trotting around Iowa looking for a good corn recipe, Kevin is heading to NY for a brief time and Nik is shuttling back and forth between Portland and San Francisco charged with the task of keeping the highway patrol busy (and he has). The guys have been writing new material, taking some things slow for a bit and basking in the crazy media attention they’ve been generating in Europe. TRB has also been nominated for an Americana Music Award as Best New Band. The award will be handed out in Nashville in September. If you’re a member, vote for us (early and often).
See ya in the obituaries,
TRB
news from the front - March 12, 2007
The band is happy to be home after a short tour of the beautifully wet Pacific Northwest. We managed to make it home with all our gear and our lives (barely). Gotta give a special thankee to Bryan Daste for sitting in with us on pedal steel. tasty, bud, tasty. Also thanks to Mark Grupe from SF's own REK for sitting in on the drums. Our drummer Jeff was unable to extricate himself from a Mexican Jail in time to make the trip.
We'll have some bay area dates posted soon. Keep checking back. You can also check us out on my space at
